Yantra is a spell that is generally written onto sacred amulets. This amulet is known as the 7th Yantra Kroh-Petch or commonly known as the Diamond Shield
During sacred ceremonies, the monks may also for example write the Yantra on other surfaces, such as on a gate in order to help protect the house from evil or black magic etc.
Yantra Kroh-petch was actually derived from the sacred incantation that was used to worship Lord Buddha, "Ithipiso Bhakawa Arahung Samma SamBuddho Vicha Jarana Sampunno Sukato Lokavitu Bhurisadharmasarati Satta-dheva Mausanung Buddhopakavati."
It was believed that the sacred spell was recorded in an ancient book called "Pra Ruang", which revealed also about heaven and hell.
The Yantra Kroh-petch was believed to be very sacred because after worshippers had passed the sacred ceremony for 7 days, Yantra Kroh-petch would be placed in their souls and help protect their lives.
During the sacred ceremony, the worshippers must light 3 incense sticks and a candle, but if they were pregnant they must light another incense stick, this one for the baby in the womb.
It was said that after the worshippers died, and their bodies were burnt, the Yantra Kroh-Petch would appear and could be seen clearly on their bones.
This spell was so named because Yantra Kroh-Petch, had the magic power to protect people from dangers, just like shields that protect soldiers from weapons.
It is also firmly believed that worshippers would not die of:
|
Accidents or murder |
|
Evils and black magic |
